Incapable Voters

Do the liberal TS socialist/Democrats realize what they are saying?  In their rants about some changes being considered for voting in various states, they are saying their voters are incapable of voting by themselves.

Some go so far as to claim the proposed changes are a return to the “Jim Crow” laws of years past. Those were the laws designed specifically to keep minorities from the polls.  Oddly, they never mention that those “Jim Crow” laws were crafted and enforced by the old Dixiecrat/Democrats of the South.

A close review of the proposals in Texas will reveal there is not a single provision that discriminates for or against any group.  Every voter is held to the identical standards.

What the proposals attempt to do is make it more difficult for someone to do the voting for someone else.  The rules on absentee balloting, the easiest and most prevalent area of fraud, are also tightened.

The proposal to allow poll watchers to video individuals “helping”  voters mark their ballots at the polls are of particular concern to some.

Why?  Do the good samaritans who spend the day taking voters to the polls want to do more than just provide transportation?  They certainly would not be inclined to escort a voter into the polls, have him identify himself and pick up a ballot, and then mark the ballot for him.

If that is not what has been going on, why is there concern about allowing the process to be video taped?

The proposals, however, that are being challenged most vigorously are those concerning absentee ballots.  Again, the question has to be why.

Without question, absentee voting is the procedure most easily manipulated.    The mass mailing of ballots to every registered voter last year is unbelievable.  How many of those were grabbed by someone other than the registered voter, forged, marked for the forger’s choice, and then dropped in a box provided for the ballots?

When such ballots were counted, how could it be determined to have come from the original addressee?

I have real experience in this area.  In the early 80s I was a candidate for County Judge. I was among the first Republican candidates for a public office in many years.

After the election, which I lost, several friends told me that my opponent and the Chairman of the Democratic Party had visited every retirement and nursing facility in the county and helped the residents execute requests for absentee ballots.  When the ballots were returned to the voters, those two again went to the retirement facilities to “help” the residents execute and return their ballots.

I assume that I did not get a single vote from the residents of those facilities.

History books are full of stories of  voter fraud.  Landslide Lyndon Johnson’s election to the United State Senate is among the most recent accounts.  Harry Truman’s relations with Kansas City’s Democratic machine led by "Boss" Tom Pendergast preceded Johnson’s bond with “political boss” George Parr of Duval County.

That was the county where the “lost” box of ballots was found. The “found” ballots  resulted in an 87 point lead for Johnson.  Oddly, the same box became “lost” again.

Finally, do not forget Tammany Hall stretching all the way back to the 18th century in New York.  Ballots seemed to be under the total control of the Tammany “boss.”

So here’s the perspective.

None of the proposed changes to the voting laws are discriminatory.  There is no “Only caucasians can do this” or “minorities have to do it this way.”  All they do is require proper registration, identification to vote, restricts absentee voting (for everyone), and enlarges the authority and presence of poll watchers.

Why are TS socialist/Democrats the only ones objecting?
