Bill Neinast has published his last column for the Brenham Banner Press. He produced thousands of columns, mostly political, and for several years sent them along to me to publish here.
I have always admired Bill and his writing: I just can’t remove him from this page.
Tell Bill you appreciate him and his writing at

Ponk Vonsydow is the author of over twenty novels. Go to the Bookstore for the list and purchase information.
Say “Hi” to Ponk at ponkvonsydow@gmail.com.

I have a eleven new essays in this issue...and my book, Old Guy: Folks I Like, is still new. The title pretty much tells the whole story, and it’s pretty fat---forty-five essays. The folks I like range from John Wayne to Archbishop Sheen to my neighbor Inez. It’s a good read, and you will be a better person for having read it...more or less.
Don’t forget about my old new book, Old Guy: I’m Still Here. My first book was titled Old Guy Has Final Word: It’s All about Me. I put that book together when I was extremely ill and suspected I probably wouldn’t be around long. Well, it turns out that I’m still here and have written 400 essays.
By the way, my good friend, John Grant, provided the cover art. Thanks, John.
The book is available at Amazon.
My book, Old Guy Has Final Word, is still available at Amazon I’ve added a Kindle version. My book has been picked up by Barnes and Noble. The book is a collection of essays suitable to be read by both young and old.
Tell me how much you hate my writing at oldjwpinkerton@gmail.com and take a look at my bio page: John Pinkerton

Wayne Edwards has another humorous poem this month:
Lose-A-Lot
by Wayne Edwards

My mother calls me Lose-A-Lot
Because I lose a lot of stuff,
She buys me two of everything
Because just one is not enough.
I lost my shoes and then my socks,
My brand new shirt I left somewhere.
Don’t ask me how but yesterday
I even lost my underwear.
See much more of Wayne’s poetry at The Poetry of Wayne Edwards.

Bob has completed the sequel to Short Stories from the Neighborhood, Short Stories From The Neighborhood: More Nostalgic Stores and Escapades From Carbondale Illinois, Vol. 2.
“This book contains more short stories and escapades about the authors who grew up in a small midwest town of Carbondale, Illinois. All of the contributing authors attended public and private schools in and around Carbondale, including the local High School (CCHS). Carbondale differs from most Illinois towns because it is the home of Southern Illinois University (SIU) and it rests in the middle of a farming community and public forest area. The authors of these short stories share their personal recollections of their lives including their joys, successes, fun times, loves, family life, sorrows and a variety of other matters that are sure to warm the heart. This volume of short stories is a continuation of the first Short Stores from the Neighborhood, published in 2019 and sold through Amazon Books.”
Don’t forget about Bob’s book, Short Stories from Texas and Beyond , at
Amazon.
