We Must Speak for Them
When I contemplate the country going to Hell in a hand basket, I think of all of the patriots who sacrificed limbs and lives to protect this country. We must give them an A for effort, but it's beginning to appear that largely their efforts were in vane---a shame.
We lost over 33,000 in Korea, over 47,000 in Vietnam, over 53,000 in WWI, and over 291,000 in WWII not to mention the American Civil War, the Revolutionary War, Iraq War, the War of 1812, the War in Afghanistan, and the Mexican-American War.
That's a lot of folks. That's a lot of patriots willing to sacrifice themselves for the American way---life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I imagine that almost to the man they would have said that they were proud to have sacrificed themselves for this country just as we have always been proud of them.
I wonder how these folks, looking at the state of the country today, would assess their sacrifices.
We have folks tearing down statues, rioting, looting, shooting innocent people, calling our neighbors “racists,” and teaching our children to hate each other; asking the government for more, more, more; socialism's and communism's popularity are on the rise; giving our enemies big bucks while not supporting our allies; taxing folks more and more; “saving the world” from “climate change” while making us more dependent on countries that hate us; bowing before our enemies; folks fighting against free speech and the right to bear arms?
I suspect that a lot of these dead folks are saying, “What the Hell happened to my country, the country I sacrificed myself for?”
I'm certain if our dead patriots saw Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, the Democrat governments of many large cities and many states, congress people such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib---they would throw up. I'm pretty sure these folks are not the folks they had in mind to lead the country when they sacrificed themselves.
Some folks will probably respond, “They're dead! They can't vote! They don't count!”
Yep, they are dead; we must speak for them.
