Where’s Hunter
Whatever happened to Hunter Biden? Where is he now? In what country is he plying his expertise? Is he now an expert in microchips that will make him a prime candidate for a well paying job as a member of the board of directors of an electronics corporation that needs access to the U.S.?
Apparently the national news media has forgotten all about Hunter Biden. Would that be the case if the name in question was Hunter Trump?
The answer is so apparent that there is no need to guess. The national news media is so biased toward the liberal left that the federal judiciary is taking note of it.
As reported in NEWSMAX, “A conservative judge on the influential federal appeals court in Washington used his dissent in a defamation case to lambaste most U.S. media outlets for trumpeting ‘shocking’ anti-Republican views, and call for libel laws to be revised to make it easier to sue the press.
“The New York Times and The Washington Post are ‘virtually Democratic Party broadsheets,’ while the news section of the Wall Street Journal ‘leans in the same direction,’” said U.S. Circuit Judge Laurence Silberman, who added the major television outlets and Silicon Valley giants were similarly biased.
“'One-party control of the press and media is a threat to a viable democracy,’ Silberman wrote. He exempted from his criticism of ‘Democratic ideological control’ Fox News, The New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal's editorial page. But he lamented that these outlets are ‘controlled by a single man and his son,’ a reference to Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, and questioned how long they could hold out.”
The best efficacy of Judge Silberman’s observations is the news coverage of the illegal immigration crisis that the Biden Administration claims does not exist.
Ironically, Biden’s Press Secretary and others say the “problem” at the border, as they call it, was caused by President Trump.
Think of that claim when you consider these documented facts.
Illegal crossings of our southern border reduced substantially. Unaccompanied minors who did cross were held in compounds until they could be returned to their home country or placed with a relative here.
These compounds were called cages and criticized daily by the national press. There was widespread coverage with pictures of the “barbaric” conditions in those cages.
Today, under the Biden Administration, there are man, many more of those cages. Approximately 10% of those caged test positive for COVID-19, but there is no social distancing.
Television and still cameras are prohibited inside the cages and Border Patrol and other immigration personnel are prohibited from talking with the press.
Do you ever hear or read about this in the national press? Conversely, how many times a day did you hear or read about this while Donald Trump was in the White House?
Aggravating this obvious bias is the liberal TV networks’ use of same derogatory phrase to describe a conservative action or initiative. FOX News, the network noted by Silberman as the only remaining conservative voice, will frequently run a montage of multiple reporters on other networks using the identical words to comment on a Trump proposal or action.
Silberman noted that, “'One-party control of the press and media is a threat to a viable democracy,” We are not yet at that point, but we are leaning heavily in that direction. The indications, however, are that the lean is becoming more pronounced.
That constant push to the left is coming from the liberal universities where journalists learn their trade.
So here’s the perspective.
Judge Silberman’s observation about one-party control of the press could be rephrased as, “A dictatorship requires complete control of all elements of the press.”
Conservatives and Republicans still have FOX News and regional and local newspapers like the Brenham Banner Press. So we have a bit of a safety net.
Let’s work to keep the net at that or a higher level.
