I first saw Marie-Renee’s art at the SEAD gallery in Bryan.  I like her work and later when I met her in her artist in residence studio, I asked her to be part of oldartguy.com.   Luckily, she said “Yes.”

Marie-Renee Hoeks


"I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at Utrecht in 1982 and has since developed a deep passion for painting. Her textile designs and fashion collections have been followed for years. The key to her passion is to think and perform creatively. Marie-Renée enjoys painting human and animal portraits and landscapes, as well as free works. She has regular exhibition in respected galleries both locally and abroad. Her passion is to motivate people and to inspire new challenges by allowing people to discover that they can create." 

Marie-Renee, a native of the Netherlands, and her art were brought to Bryan, Texas, by the SEAD Gallery in Bryan, Texas, for an exhibition, Characters, consisting of her acrylic on canvas works featuring cattle.  The show will run through the end of March.

Marie-Renee has also been an artist-in-residence sporsored by the SEAD Gallery.  While in residence she produced more art and held an open house at her studio.

One of Marie-Renee’s specialties is portraitures: people, cats, dogs, and other animals.  She readily accepts commissions.

She has exhibition in respected galleries both locally in the Netherlands and abroad.  Her passion is to motivate people and to inspire new challenges by allowing people to discover that they can create.
